World’s growing thirst for US gas testing Ability to meet US demand

The shrinking flow of Russian natural gas into Europe has triggered a global race among US allies to secure US gas exports, which is testing the country’s ability to meet rapidly growing demand.

Russia halted natural gas deliveries to Europe after the continent imposed a flurry of sanctions over its invasion of Ukraine. According to consulting firm Rystad Energy, that change has left Europe scrambling for safer alternatives, especially as the continent’s liquefied natural gas, or LNG, imports from the US more than doubled between March and June.
