Shiv Sena: BJP ties up with MSRTC employees to appoint 12 MLCs

Calling it the “politics of blackmail and terror”, Shiv Sena on Friday alleged that BJP The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has stopped an agreement with the striking employees, in the same way it has stopped the appointment of 12 MLCs which are pending with Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari.

“The opposition is well aware that the merger of MSRTC with the state government is not possible at present. The workers have also accepted this point but they have been surrounded by BJP leaders. The way BJP has banned the approval of files on 12 MLCs, similarly the strike of MSRTC employees is also stuck. This is politics of terror and blackmail,” said an editorial in Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamana.

It said that the strike does not seem to be broken by the policy of the state government, but everyone feels that some way should be found through discussion. Shiv Sena said that it is true that the lives of 2.5 lakh mill workers in Mumbai were ruined due to such obstinate attitude.

Responding to the opposition’s demand to register a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder against Transport Minister Anil Parab, Shiv Sena said the same rule should be applied to farmers’ protest over three independent laws. “Then who should be charged with culpable homicide?” it asked.

Stating that the MSRTC employees’ strike will not benefit the BJP, the editorial said the administration has issued show cause notices to 2,296 salaried employees. “If these workers lose their jobs, will BJP give them a lifetime salary from the PM Cares Fund?” asked Shiv Sena.
