Talking to reporters, District Police Officer Tariq Vilayat said that the police on Wednesday arrested a Kingki rickshaw puller in Muzaffargarh for raping a teenager a day ago in the city’s Mubarakpur area.

The arrest comes hours after a First Information Report (FIR) of the incident was registered at the Khangarh police station in the city by the step father of the teenager under section 376 (punishment for rape) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Meanwhile, the complainant continued, hearing the cries of her step-daughter, two passers-by reached the spot and later, the driver fled with his Kingkie.

“My step-daughter narrated the entire incident in the presence of witnesses,” he said, adding that the driver had “committed the sinful act of kidnapping and raping my daughter”.

The complainant has demanded the police to take legal action against the accused.

The FIR also states that the teenager was sent to the rural health center in Khangarh for medical examination.
