Talking to reporters, District Police Officer Tariq Vilayat said that the police on Wednesday arrested a Kingki rickshaw puller in Muzaffargarh for raping a teenager a day ago in the city’s Mubarakpur area.
The arrest comes hours after a First Information Report (FIR) of the incident was registered at the Khangarh police station in the city by the step father of the teenager under section 376 (punishment for rape) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
According to the FIR, a copy of which is available with don.comComplainant Muhammad Ijaz told the police that his step-daughter, who is around 16 years old, left her maternal grandmother’s house in a Kingki rickshaw, also known as a motorcycle-rickshaw, for her home at around 1 pm on Tuesday.
On the way, he said, Kingqi broke down and so, his step-daughter took another motorcycle-rickshaw, which had reached the spot where the first one broke.
The complainant said that on reaching the Chaman bypass, all the other passengers got down from that kingki, after which the driver took the three-wheeler to a secluded place.
“When [my] daughter asked him [why he was taking that route]He replied that he had to pick up some other passengers,” the complainant said, adding that the driver later stopped Kingqi at a secluded spot near some bushes.
After this, the driver forcibly took my step-daughter behind the bushes and raped her.
Meanwhile, the complainant continued, hearing the cries of her step-daughter, two passers-by reached the spot and later, the driver fled with his Kingkie.
“My step-daughter narrated the entire incident in the presence of witnesses,” he said, adding that the driver had “committed the sinful act of kidnapping and raping my daughter”.
The complainant has demanded the police to take legal action against the accused.
The FIR also states that the teenager was sent to the rural health center in Khangarh for medical examination.

Ghafoor died on the spot while Shakoor and Hussain were injured.
The injured were sent to the Nishtar Hospital in Multan. Khangarh police have registered a case.

Police officials who reached the farm collected forensic evidence and sent the rape victim to the hospital for medical examination.
Later, the Additional Inspector General of Punjab ordered DPO Vilayat to register a case of incident, arrest the robbers and submit the report.
