Levi Strauss sales growth as retail grapples with rising inventories

Levi Strauss & Co. posted higher sales in the latest quarter, thanks to issues related to excess inventory and a slowdown in consumer spending among retailers for now.

The San Francisco-based company said Thursday that its fiscal second quarter revenue rose 15% to $1.47 billion. Analysts polled by FactSet expected $1.43 billion in total revenue.
