Fire at Mumbai airport’s cargo complex

A fire broke out in a tarpaulin shed at a cargo complex inside the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport on Monday afternoon. The Mumbai Fire Brigade and the Mumbai Airport fire brigade acted quickly in the event of an emergency and brought the fire under control.

Director General of Civil Aviation Arun Kumar said he was informed that the fire was confined to the cargo complex area.

Mumbai Fire Brigade Chief Officer Hemant Parab said, “Our vehicles from Mumbai Fire Brigade quickly doused the fire. There was a monsoon shed on the roof and it caught fire.

The Mumbai Fire Brigade sent three fire trucks and two jumbo tankers and the fire was completely brought under control by 12.59 pm.

Adani-run Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) did not respond to queries from this newspaper.
