Deadly Israeli airstrikes have targeted residential buildings in Gaza, killing nine people.

Three people were killed and several were injured, including two children, after an Israeli airstrike targeted two residential buildings east of Rafah, according to a statement from the Gaza General Directorate of Civil Defense.

The Israel Defense Forces issued a statement on Saturday confirming the strikes on targets, saying it was “working to dismantle Hamas’ military and administrative capabilities,” and adding that “the IDF is in compliance with international law. and take possible precautions to minimize civilian damage.”

Israeli airstrikes have been targeting Rafah, where at least 1.2 million displaced Palestinians are sheltering, for weeks ahead of an anticipated ground offensive.

Elsewhere in northern Gaza, three people were killed and three wounded in an Israeli air strike targeting a family home in Jabalya early Saturday morning.

In another example, three people, including a woman, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a family home east of al-Nusirat camp in central Gaza at midnight on Friday, according to the director general of al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, Iyad. Issa Abu Zaheer.
