Caitlin Clark, top overall pick 2024 wnba draft, Made his professional debut in front of a packed crowd in the Indiana Fever’s preseason game against the Dallas Wings on Friday night.
22 year old Clark remained connected to her roots NCAA Division 1 The all-time leading scorer, dropped a team-high 21 points in the Fever’s 79–76 loss. He led the way with 16 points in 16 minutes in the first half and 21 points in 28 minutes.
“My biggest goal coming into tonight was to be myself, enjoy playing basketball, be aggressive – I thought that’s what I did. So, I think [I have] It’s something to be very proud of,” Clarke told reporters after the game.

It was a narrow win for Dallas that came down to the wire. Dallas’ Arike Ogunbowale had the winning basket with just three seconds left on the clock. Clark’s 3-point attempt from the right corner fell short at the buzzer to force overtime.
“You couldn’t ask for a better game than this,” Clarke said.

Clark said of the fans, “They are what make women’s basketball so much fun.” “I think over the last few years, it’s been growing steadily. And they have to come forward and support [me] During my first WNBA game, it was really special, not only for me but for both teams on the court. “They get to see how good this product is.”
Despite the loss, Clark said her pro debut is not something she will ever forget – just like her first game at Iowa.
“It’s pretty special to wear your jersey for the first time in an actual game…It’s a big milestone for someone who has always dreamed of playing in the WNBA.”

The Friday night game was the first of two for the Fever before Clarke makes its regular season debut at the Connecticut Sun on May 14.
