A Collingwood, Ontario, man is now facing first-degree murder charges after a body was found in a burning car crash late last month.
Members of the Collingwood and Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have been upgraded to charges in connection with a fatal single-vehicle collision that occurred in The Blue Mountains in January.
On January 26, the OPP investigated an incident involving a motor vehicle collision on Arrowhead Road in which the vehicle was found on fire.

Police say a dead person was lying inside the vehicle.
As a result of the ongoing investigation into the fatality, charges against James Schwalm, 38, of Collingwood, have been upgraded to first-degree murder and desecration of a dead body.
The accused appeared in bail court on Friday, where the charges were updated, and Schwalm remains in custody.
