It was long rumored that Tiger Woods was unfaithful to his ex-wife Elin Nordegren A few years before that fateful Thanksgiving weekend in 2009.
Speculation was that the photos of Woods and alleged mistress Mindy Lawton were never published because the National Enquirer and Woods had negotiated a deal that would put her on the cover of Men’s Fitness.
According to David Pecker, it turns out that the speculation is true.

At the time of the Lawton incident, Pecker was president of American Media Inc. He was the CEO of Inc., which operated the Inquirer and Men’s Fitness.
Pecker, testifying in New York vs. trump trial In New York, he said he bought the photos and buried them in exchange for Woods’s publication in the magazine.
Pekar says he bought photos of the two in a church parking lot and used them as blackmail. Woods was on the cover of the magazine with a 12-page story about her diet, workout regimen, and marriage.
However, this deal only cost Woods so much time, as his affair with Rachel Uchitel became very public in 2009, leading to Nordegren swinging a golf club at Woods’ vehicle.
As soon as the debate made news, dozens of women came forward describing relationships with Woods. Their divorce reportedly cost Woods approximately $100 million.
Woods has since been in and out of relationships, including with Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn. His most recent relationship with Erica Harmon ended badly when she accused Woods of sexually assaulting her and making her sign a non-disclosure agreement.
