Harris spent the last two seasons playing with the Toronto Argonauts after leaving the Blue and Gold as a free agent in 2019. “So when you’re having suicidal thoughts, I think it’s a very difficult situation to be in,” Harris said. “COVID was hard for a lot of people, but I was really in that dark place during COVID and it was really hard to get out of there.”

Harris signed with the Blue Bombers as a free agent in 2016 after beginning his CFL career with the BC Lions in 2009. He is credited by the Blue Bombers organization with being a major component in the franchise’s turnaround, winning numerous awards including the CFL’s Most Valuable Player Award. Outstanding Canadian in 2017 and 2019, and also Gray Cup MVP in 2019.

Along with four Gray Cups, Harris is one of six players in league history to surpass the 10,000-yard mark as a rusher, retiring with 10,380 yards and 51 touchdowns, while totaling 5,489 yards and 32 touchdowns. 607 receptions have been recoded for this.
