Zelensky meets UK PM during first visit since Russian invasion

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in the UK on 8 February for his first visit to the country since the Russian invasion of Ukraine. He was received by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on his arrival at Stansted Airport. Addressing the UK Parliament, Zelensky urged Britain to send warplanes to Ukraine. “Two years ago, I left Parliament thanking you for the delicious English tea,” he said. “Today I will leave Parliament thanking you all for the mighty English planes.” Zelensky later met with King Charles at Buckingham Palace.
