Mumbai:

A 47-year-old woman was found murdered in a lodge room near Aksa Beach in Mumbai’s Malad area on Tuesday evening, following which police launched a hunt for the man who had checked in with her, an official said.

He said the two had checked-in at the lodge on Monday night and started fighting soon after.

At that time the lodge staff pacified him. The man left on Tuesday morning. When the woman did not open the door or answer calls, the staff informed the police. When the door opened, she was on the bed. He was found lying dead. He was declared brought dead on reaching the nearest hospital.

An official of Malwani police station said the man has been identified and efforts are on to arrest him.
