Balgoni, Sask. Arrest produced more than 2,000 grams of fentanyl: Police | Globalnews.ca

Following an investigation by the Regina Police Service Drug Unit, a 39-year-old man from Balgoni, Sask., has been charged with multiple crimes.

On Friday, July 8, police searched a residence in Balgoni, where Matthew James McDonald was arrested and charged.

During the search, the following were seized:

  • 2169.31 g fentanyl
  • 1418.01 g cocaine
  • 914.14 grams of methamphetamine
  • $8,765 in Canadian currency
  • Sawed-Off .22 Caliber Rifle
  • Digital scales, packaging and other items to support cocaine trafficking

McDonald’s has been charged with the following offenses

  • Possession for the purpose of smuggling cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of smuggling methamphetamine
  • Possession for the purpose of smuggling fentanyl
  • $5000. income more than
  • Reckless use of firearm/violation of storage rules
  • unauthorized possession of a firearm

McDonald’s made its first provincial court appearance on Monday, July 11.
