U.N. Atomic Agency Details Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Site Damage, Urges Safety Zone

The United Nations atomic agency detailed damage done to Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant and warned of the high-stress environment for staff there in a report Tuesday that pointed to dangers posed by the Russian occupation of the site.

The report comes ahead of a discussion at the U.N. Security Council about the situation at Ukraine’s nuclear facilities. It follows a long-awaited visit to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear-power plant, Europe’s largest, from an International Atomic Energy Agency team last week.
