Tokyo: Athletic Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan created history by qualifying for the final of the javelin throw event at the Tokyo Olympics on Wednesday. geo news Reported.

Arhad Nadeem has become the first Pakistani athlete to qualify for the finals of any track and field event at the Olympics.

The Pakistani javelin thrower was placed in Group B for the competition in which the athlete had to throw a minimum of 83.5 meters to qualify directly for the final. Only six athletes could do so, and Arshad was one of them, while the remaining six reached the final on the basis of their respective farthest throws.

In his first attempt, the 24-year-old Pakistani athlete could reach the mark of 78.5m, but in his second attempt, Arshad created history with a throw of 85.16m, taking him to the top of Group B as well.

It was the third best throw in the competition behind Neeraj Chopra (86.65m) of India and Johannes Vetter (85.64m) of Germany.

This is also Arshad’s third best throw in a competition.

Earlier this year, Arshad threw the javelin for his personal best and a national record of 86.39 meters during the Imam Reza Championships in Iran. Earlier in 2019, he threw 86.29m at the South Asian Games in Nepal.

Therefore, one can safely say that Arshad’s best is yet to come and expect the best to make it to the final on August 7, which is scheduled to start at 4:00 PM Pakistan Time.

The Pakistani athlete will also be eyeing a medal on Saturday as he is seen as a possible hope of ending the country’s Olympic medal drought.

Arshad’s main rivals will be Neeraj Chopra of India and Johannes Vetter of Germany. The fact is that some of the best javelin throwers could not make it to the finals.

These included Julius Yego (Pb 92.72m), Chao-Sun Cheng (Pb 91.36m), Keshorn Walcott (Pb 90.16m), Marcin Krukowski (Pb 89.55m), Bernhard Seifert (Pb 89.06m) and Anderson Peters (PB 87.31m). Huh. )

Arshad, who once aspired to become a cricketer, had said before the Olympics that he would be eyeing the 90m throw in the Olympics.
