The NFL’s Denver Broncos Have Agreed To Sell The Team To Walmart Heirs And His Family

The Denver Broncos and the Walton-Penner family have entered into a buy and sell agreement to acquire the National Football League team, both sides announced.

The Walton-Penner family, led by walmart Heir Rob Walton will acquire the Broncos from the Pat Bolan Trust in a reported $4.65 billion deal, a record for an American sports franchise.

“We are thrilled to have chosen to proceed with the purchase of the Denver Broncos!” Walton said in a statement late Tuesday.

“Carrie (Walton-Penner), Greg (Penner) and I are inspired by the opportunity to run this great organization in a vibrant community filled with opportunity and enthusiastic fans.”

The purchase would require approval from the NFL’s finance committee and league ownership.

Broncos CEO and President Joe Ellis said, “Having learned more about[the family’s]background and vision for the Denver Broncos, I am confident that their leadership and support will help this team achieve great things on and off the field. will help.”

“Today marks an important step on the road to an exciting new chapter in the history of the Broncos.”

Boleyn acquired the Broncos in 1984, and the franchise won three Super Bowls during his reign. Bolan’s trust assumed ownership after his death in 2019.
