Taapsee Pannu, Tahir Raj Bhasin’s ‘Loop Lapeta’ to release on Netflix in February

Starring Taapsee Pannu and Tahir Raj Bhasin Loop Lapeta Will premiere on Netflix on February 4, streamers announced on Saturday. Helmed by debutant director Aakash Bhatia, the upcoming comedy thriller is a Hindi-language remake of German filmmaker Tom Tykwer’s 1998 cult classic film Run Lola Run.

The film promises to be an adventurous ride through a difficult situation where a girlfriend is on a mission to save her lover. As the plot unfolds, a series of events continually lead the lovers to make choices that define their future, the official synopsis of the film read.

In the film, Pannu plays the role of Savi, who is on a mission to save her lover. “This compelling story in collaboration with my director, Aakash, and co-star, Tahir, was extremely entertaining. I can’t wait for fans and audiences to watch this great film and enjoy it as much as we loved making it.”

34-year-old Bhasin, who is seen as Satya, says Loop Lapeta gives a new twist to romance and he is thrilled to show the film to the audience.

“The film is based on a new age romance, and is a genre that I am exploring for the first time. I can’t wait for the world to meet the characters of Satya and Saavi. Our director has a unique style stamp that has created a fascinating world where thrill and comedy combine for a crazy rollercoaster of an entertainer,” said Bhasin.

Bhatia said that he is excited that his debut film Loop Lapeta will stream on Netflix. “There is no way to reduce the excitement of making the first film and Loop Lapeta has transcended every part of it. I am extremely excited with the shape we have given it. It spans genres from comedy, thriller to romance. Boldly jumps in and rides a rollercoaster for the spectators,” Bhatia said.

Loop Lapeta is produced by Sony Pictures Films India, Ellipsis Entertainment and Aayush Maheshwari.
