Second juvenile accused in connection with Regina’s sixth recent murder – Regina | Globalnews.ca

A second man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the recent murder of a 14-year-old boy by Regina.

Police said on Monday that a 17-year-old man is now facing multiple charges in this case. A 15-year-old boy was earlier charged on Thursday, June 30.

according to Regina Police ServiceOn Wednesday, June 29, at around 2:20 pm, police received 911 calls requesting officers in an alleyway in the 1200 block of Rae Street.

Police say officers found a 14-year-old boy dead in the street as well as an injured 32-year-old woman, who was taken to hospital by EMS.

“Additional police resources (forensic identification and major crimes) and the coroner were requested to handle the investigation,” the RPS said. “The investigation led to the arrest of a 17-year-old male last weekend.”

The RPS will not release the identity of the deceased person and the accused as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Police have charged a 17-year-old boy with first-degree murder, assault with a weapon and unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle.

The RPS said the juvenile made his first court appearance on these charges at the youth court on Monday at 9:30 am.
