‘Roads like Katrina Kaif’ remark: BJP demands action against Rajasthan minister

Jaipur, November 25

The opposition BJP in Rajasthan on Thursday demanded action against a state minister who compared the streets to the cheeks of actors Hema Malini and Katrina Kaif.

The remarks were reportedly made by Minister of State for Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Rajendra Singh Gudha on Tuesday during a government camp in a village in Jhunjhunu district.

In a purported video of the incident, Gudha is heard saying in the local dialect that the roads should be like Hema Malini’s cheeks, but added that she is “too old”.

He then said that the roads should be like “Katrina Kaif’s cheeks”.

Targeting the minister, BJP spokesperson Ram Lal Sharma said, “It is indecent for women to make such a statement. CM should take strict action. The culture and tradition of Rajasthan has not been such that a person holding a constitutional post should make such a statement. ,

Sharma said that Gudha is the same leader who had said in the assembly elections that he gave money to get tickets and votes.

Gudha is among 15 ministers who took oath in the cabinet reshuffle on Sunday. He is one of the four newly inducted ministers of the state.

He represents the Udaipurwati constituency of Jhunjhunu and was elected as an MLA of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). Gudha was one of the five BSP MLAs who left the party and later joined the Congress. PTI
