Preparations are on to register another case against former Congress minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot. Dharamsot is accused of not giving complete information about the property in the election affidavit. Which was revealed in the investigation of Vigilance Bureau. Dharamsot is lodged in Nabha jail in Jungle scam. Dharamsot has recently filed a bail application in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. In view of this, the government is taking swift action so that Dharamsot cannot come out of jail yet.

There was a plot in Mohali in the name of wife
In the investigation of jungle scam, Vigilance searched the property of Dharamsot. In which it was found that the plot number 27 of Dharamsot is 500 yards in Sector 80 of Mohali. This plot is in the name of Dharamsot’s wife Sheela Devi. It was bought in May 2021. According to the records of GMADA, Sheela Devi was its owner till 31 January 2022. On March 2, it was proposed to transfer it in the name of Rajkumar and Kashmir Singh.

Violation of concealment of information act
Vigilance also sent a letter to the Chief Election Officer of Punjab regarding this plot. In which it is said that Dharamsot, while contesting the election from Nabha seat, did not give information about the 500 yards residential plot in the name of the wife in the property affidavit. By doing so, Dharamsot has committed an offense under section 125A of The Representation of the People Act, 1951. A letter was sent to the Election Commission’s headquarters in Delhi for action on this.
