opinion | Richard Glick’s White House Chat

Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Chairman Richard Glick declined to take orders from the White House when he ran through regulations mandating climate reviews for new natural gas pipelines and liquefied natural gas terminals. The documents shared with us raise questions about that answer.

The Institute for Energy Research obtained Mr. Glick’s meeting calendar from November 8, 2020, last April 19, via a Freedom of Information Act request. Not surprisingly, this includes several meetings with utilities, energy providers and FERC employees. But from last September, he began bi-weekly meetings with Ali Zaidi, the White House’s deputy national climate adviser.
