Democrats are upset that many Republican voters do not consider the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot an attack on democracy, and perhaps one reason why many Democrats have a double standard about what democratic institutions they want to protect.

January 6 was an attack on the transfer of presidential power and the duty of Congress to ratify the Electoral College votes under the Constitution. But what about the growing threat to the third branch of democratic government, the Supreme Court, and especially the seemingly non-existence of the arrest of an armed man outside the home of Justice Brett Kavanaugh?
