Oliver, BC, firefighters responded to a pile of prunings that turned into a brush fire Friday.
The fire broke out in the area of Road 20 and the Oliver Fire Department responded with two engines, one tender and two command staff.
The fire prompted warnings from the Oliver Fire Department about unusually dry conditions.
“Even with the recent cold temperatures and little chance of snow. Many areas are dry with unusually dry weather at this time of year,” read the Oliver Fire Department release.
“If you are burning in areas that allow, please take care to burn in areas where the potential for further and larger fires does not exist and if possible, have water nearby to extinguish anything Keep the source.”
Crews worked to extinguish the fire for about two hours.
The fire was continuing approximately one hectare in size.
