Myanmar hangs four men, including two prominent democracy activists

Myanmar executed four prisoners, including two well-known democracy activists, as the country’s military junta continued its campaign to crush opposition to its regime since seizing power in a coup last year.

Myanmar’s state-controlled news agency said on Monday that four people-Phyo Zeya Thaw, Kyaw Min You, Hala myo ang And ang thura zavo— involved in “terrorist acts” including murder, but did not give details of the charges, nor how or when the men were executed. A junta official had earlier said that he would be hanged.
