Mumbai: Somaiya requests ED action against NCP minister over ‘irregularities’

senior BJP Leader Kirit Somaiya on Tuesday requested the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to probe alleged financial irregularities by NCP Rural Development Minister Hasan Mushrif in the Appasaheb Nalwade Gadhinglaj Cooperative Sugar Factory Ltd.

The former BJP MP handed over a letter to ED Joint Director Sayatabrata Kumar along with a note accusing him of wrongdoing regarding a deal through which the sugar factory was handed over to a private firm.

He alleged that Mushrif and his family members were involved in money laundering. He also alleged that a close member of Mushrif’s family was a benami owner of the private firm.

Meanwhile, Mushrif termed all the allegations made by Somaiya as factually misleading and baseless. “There are neither any shell companies nor any illegal deals. I am consulting legal experts and will file a defamation case of Rs 100 crore against Somaiya.
