Investigation against Anil Deshmukh: CBI summons three officials of the Home Department to cooperate in the investigation

The Central Bureau of Investigation recently summoned three officials of the Maharashtra Home Department to Delhi in connection with the corruption allegations against former state home minister Anil Deshmukh case. Sources said the officers were in Delhi from January 18-21 and were asked questions on files related to transfers of policemen seized by the central agency.

The CBI is probing allegations of misconduct and corruption against the NCP leader by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh. When the agency started investigation, they seized some files from the Home Department.

SJ Kunte, (now principal advisor to the chief minister) was summoned to the CBI office when he was the chief secretary of the state with DGP Sanjay Pandey as a witness.

Some senior CBI officers are likely to be called again. Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Manukumar Srivastava did not respond to a message sent by this correspondent.
