Haaland puts those comments aside with devastating return to top form City beats Wolves 5-1 to retain Premier League title Title race.

“I don’t really care that much about the guy, so it’s OK,” Haaland said in an interview with a broadcaster in his native Norway.

The root of any bitterness probably lies in Keane’s long-running feud with Haaland’s father Alf-Inge. Keane was infamous for his horrific attack on Haaland senior in 2001.

Haaland stunned Wolves with a hat-trick in the first half, two of which were penalties, and took his tally to 36 for the campaign in all competitions with a spectacular fourth.

“We just have to win our games, rest tonight and focus on Fulham,” Haaland said.

Haaland scored 52 goals in his brilliant first season at City and manager Pep Guardiola insisted that any decline this term was largely down to his injury problems.

Guardiola said: “He was injured. He needs time to get back to his best form. He is very tall. He’s not like Jeremy (Doku) or Phil (Foden).

“I am also happy with his performance and his extraordinary goals and penalties because we know that sometimes they are not easy.

“But the second and fourth were unbelievable. I’m really happy for him.”

City have three games remaining compared to Arsenal’s two.

Guardiola said: “It was a better result than the performance. People see 5-1 but I don’t feel like it was really good.

“But we are happy with the result. Now we have to take nine points, otherwise Arsenal will win the title.

Wolves boss Gary O’Neill believes City’s first-ever penalty following a clash between Josco Guardiol and Ryan Ait-Nouri was controversial, but admitted that City deserved their win.

O’Neill, whose side got a consolation through Hwang Hee-chan, said: “The first penalty, I thought, was a really poor decision. This was a strange thing.

“But we have to take responsibility for the way the game played out. I think we made a lot of mistakes, even unexpected ones, which gave Manchester City some good chances.

“You can avoid some mistakes against other teams, but we knew we needed to try to be as perfect as possible here, and we missed that on many occasions.

“It means it was a fairly comfortable afternoon for Manchester City.”
