“I’ll leave that to a future conversation,” Hervey said. “We all love and respect him and I don’t think there’s any reason why we shouldn’t accept Simoni as someone in this organization. When he gets the opportunity to talk to everyone, we all know it will be a great pleasure.”

As far as the No. 1 free agent on the market is concerned, Hervey says talks are ongoing with White’s camp.

“Tim knows how we feel about him, and we are in constant contact with his camp,” Hervey confirmed. “I see no reason why communication and dialogue cannot move forward. As it is now, there is nothing new to update.”

Hervey immediately expressed his desire to match any offer made by another team to the two-time CFL All-Star and last season’s receiving yards leader.

“I don’t think we’re in a position to talk about Tim White leaving right now,” Hervey said. “I think we’ll have a chance to talk with Tim if something happens. I’m confident that whatever is put out there, we will be more than competitive enough to meet their expectations.”

“It would be a shame if it doesn’t work out (with White),” Hervey said. “We are ready to talk and we are ready to continue the dialogue whenever it happens.”
