Halifax Police traces truck believed to be involved in fatal motorcycle accident – Halifax | Globalnews.ca

Halifax Regional Police say they have found a vehicle believed to be involved in an accident that killed a teenage motorcyclist.

The incident took place on Dunbreak Street around 4.30 pm on Monday.

A 17-year-old motorcyclist was taken to a hospital after he collided with a transport truck and trailer near the exit ramp of Highway 102, police said.

The teenager later died. According to several posts on social media, he became a father only a few weeks before his death.

When the police arrived, the truck was not on the spot.

Police said in a release on Thursday that they are trying to trace the truck and talk to the driver. The truck was described as blue/grey with a sleepover cab and grille protectors and towing an empty tri-axle container chassis.

Soon after 2 p.m. Thursday, police issued an update saying they had located the truck and driver and that the investigation was ongoing.

No other details were provided.
