Senior Congress MLA Sukhram Rathwa on Tuesday took charge as the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Gujarat Assembly. Rathwa was recently appointed by the party leadership in place of Paresh Dhanani.
Rathwa, a senior tribal MLA from Jetpur constituency in Chhota Udepur district, was accompanied by senior party leaders and MLAs.
Rathwa assured that he would work keeping everyone together and expressed confidence in his party’s ability to win the upcoming assembly elections in 2022.
On the challenges before the party before the assembly elections, Rathwa said that the new youth team of Congress is now ready with a strategy.
Rathwa also claimed that all Congress MLAs are devoted to the party and will stand by it.
