This year for the eighth year in a row the Queen Street business in north Peterborough will be providing free frozen turkeys. The giveaway will be held on December 14 from 11 am to 3 pm

One turkey per household will be awarded.

“There are so many people this time of year could use a helping hand,” said owner Ross Balletto. “We want to offer our assistance to people in Lakefield and the area. We have purchased frozen turkeys to give to those in need.”

Identification will be required to verify customers from the local area.

“We support a lot of local charities, non-profit organizations and sports groups, but this turkey gift lets us put our aid ‘right on the table’ for those who need it most,” said Balletto .
