Saskatoon Blades The Moose Jaw head into the third round of their WHL playoff round against the Moose Jaw Warriors on Friday and the Townspeople are excited to be in the action.

“It’s been years since they’ve had a good run in the playoffs, so it’s pretty cool,” said Saskatoon resident Brendan Belcher.

He said his family has playoff passes and he was at The Fez on Friday to buy his son a Blades hat.

Corey Wiebe was also there, buying a shirt for his kid for the game.

“It’s great for the economy,” he said. “I’m sure sales are up across the board and you’re seeing eight to 10,000 people in the arena every night, so it’s great for the economy.”

Saskatoon Blades communications Tanner Chubby said the energy surrounding the playoffs has been “electric.”

“Wherever I go, people are talking about the Saskatoon Blades and it’s really cool. The main story coming is that it’s an all-Saskatchewan final.

He said that this is a huge achievement for the province.

“We have fan buses going to Moose Jaw for games three and four, I’m sure there will be a lot of Moose Jaw fans here tonight.”

Chubey said the energy has brought a lot of attention to junior hockey and drawn the attention of fans.

“They have all been fully involved in the Blades this year, just like the team,” he said.

The puck will be dropped at SaskTel Center on Friday at 7pm to start the round.
