Farmers staged longest non-violent protest in country: Kejriwal in assembly session

The Delhi Assembly on Friday passed a resolution supporting the demands of MSP, a legal guarantee for farmer groups, and demanded that the families of those who lost their lives during the protests be given compensation.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Said that the legal guarantee of MSP would greatly benefit the agriculture sector. Addressing the assembly, he said, “The Center did not bother to ask or consult the farmers about this decision… because of their arrogance… when the farmers came to Delhi, they thought they would for a few days Will shout on the streets, get tired, and go back. This movement was started on the border of Delhi on 26 November last year. Now it has been a full year and this movement has been successful. I would like to congratulate the farmers of the country on this achievement. I would like to congratulate and salute their bravery.

The resolution, which was moved by Minister Gopal Rai, also demanded that Union Minister Ajay Kumar Mishra be dropped from the cabinet and arrested for his role. Lakhimpur Kheri accident. On 3 October, a convoy of three SUVs ran over a group of protesting farmers, killing four. Mishra’s son is the main accused in the case and is currently in jail.

The resolution also stated that 3 agricultural laws were against the interests of farmers and general public, and some were made in favor of business houses.

Kejriwal said the farmers’ protest was the longest non-violent protest in the country: “In my understanding, it is probably the longest active movement in the history of humanity. Earlier in 1907 the farmers of Punjab had protested against the British for 9 months… I never thought that in independent India farmers would be abused like anti-national, Khalistani, agents of China-Pakistan… The farmers were crushed by the car. The culprit was arrested in Lakhimpur in front of thousands but only after the intervention of the Supreme Court. For the last few years, people’s faith in democracy was losing. This is a victory for democracy.”
