Delhi Transport Department has so far received over 8,000 applications for its ‘faceless services’

Two days after the transport department launched 33 ‘faceless services’, the Delhi government has so far received over 8,000 applications till Friday evening, of which 37 per cent have applied for learner’s licence, according to data. Get to know from.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday launched 33 ‘faceless services’ of the Transport Department that Delhiites can avail online, and to send a message to the people that people need not go here, the IP Estate Motor Licensing Office (IPO). MLO) was closed.

Under the scheme, 33 major transport-related services such as driving licenses, registration certificates, permits, and termination of hypotheses among others have become online and people will not be required to visit MLO offices.

Applicants will now only need to visit the transport offices to take the driving test for permanent driving license and fitness test of the vehicles. According to official figures, a total of 8,370 applications were received for various services of the Transport Department under the ‘Faceless Services’ scheme till 4 pm on Friday.

The data shows that a maximum of 3,086 people have applied for learner’s license, followed by transfer of ownership, for which 1,433 applications have been received.

A transport department official said, “The faceless service scheme has received very encouraging response. The data shows that the scheme has become popular among the masses as it provides many important services online.”

The data showed that till 4 pm on Friday, 1,248 applications for renewal of driving license were received, while 589 people had applied for termination of hypothecation.

458 people applied for change of address in driving licence, while 352 applications were received for issuance of duplicate RC.

Similarly, 254 people had applied for issuance of NOC and 247 had applied for issuance of duplicate DL.

However, the lowest turnout was witnessed for issuance of DL and duplicate PSV badges as only one application was received each for these services.

People can avail the ‘faceless service’ by logging on to transport.delhi.gov.in/transport.delhi.gov.in and apply for the required documents. The process is Aadhaar-authenticated and the fee can be paid online as well.

The documents will be sent to the applicants through speed post. They can also download it through a link sent through an SMS on their registered mobile number. — PTI
