Caught on camera: Deer entered the shop in the forest by breaking the glass of the front window

ONE, VA (WDBJ) – It was a normal day at Penelope, until a peculiar shopper burst through the glass in front of the store.

“They were obviously scared to death because they didn’t know what it was because everyone was busy. We had customers in the store,” said Libby Smalls.

On Tuesday afternoon, the deer seen in the video started roaming around the boutique.

“We were in shock when they called us, you know, it was like, well this is the first time,” Smalls said.

Libby Smalls, a family member of Penelope’s owners, said the deer was there for some time until three Good Samaritans came to the rescue.

“They were the ones who really took out the deer as it swung against a mirror in the back, and so they were able to distract the deer, pull the mirror off the wall, and they used the mirror, they turned off the lights. Diya and he used it and he was able to walk out of the shop,” Smalls said.

Chhote said that thankfully no one was hurt and there was minimal damage in the shop. What’s just left of the broken front window.

“We were kinda joking because we’re like, oh, she just wanted a pair of earrings and couldn’t open the door herself,” Smalls said.

Penelope’s owners are looking for the three men who helped pull the deer out.

“We would like to thank them for their help as the consignment and the store could have suffered a lot more,” Smalls said.
