Biden says he hopes to speak with China’s Xi in 10 days

Beijing – US President Joe Biden He said he hoped to speak to the Chinese president Xi Jinping by the end of the month.

He did not elaborate on the reasons for the call or the planned topics of discussion. China’s foreign ministry did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The two leaders last spoke in March, mostly about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. China has refused to call the attack an attack.

“I think I will speak to President Xi within the next 10 days,” Biden told reporters at Eastern Time on Wednesday, according to a White House transcript.
