At least 19 killed as bus falls into a ravine in Balochistan’s Shirani

Quetta: At least 19 passengers were killed and 12 others injured when a Quetta-bound bus fell into a deep gorge in Balochistan’s Shirani district.

Police and rescue teams rushed to the accident site and immediately shifted the dead and injured to hospitals in Jhob and Mughal Kot, the official said.

According to rescuers, the bus on its way from Rawalpindi to Quetta met with an accident near Dansar area of ​​Shirani district.

Shirani’s assistant commissioner said the incident took place within the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border.

The reasons for the accident are yet to be ascertained. The dead have also not been identified yet.

Expressing deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif directed the officials to immediately provide the best medical facilities to the injured.

Chief Minister Balochistan Abdul Quddus Bijenjo also expressed grief over the loss of precious lives and directed the administration and rescue officials to expedite their response.

He ordered the authorities to enforce a state of emergency in Zhobe’s hospitals and provide best medical facilities to the injured.

Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz also expressed grief over the loss of life in the accident and expressed condolences to the families of the victims.
