England’s miserable Ashes tour went from bad to worse on the second day of the third Test when Ollie Robinson was pulled up with a left hamstring injury.

Robinson went on to treat Australia to 245-8 as Ben Stokes bowled the remaining four deliveries to complete the rest of the over.

However, despite the apparent setback, Robinson was soon cleared to return to action to the relief of Captain Joe Root.

The 28-year-old was able to bowl once again as a right-arm seamer, then bowled another three overs for the struggling tourists.

Robinson finished with figures of two wickets in the first innings at 64 in 19.2 overs as England bowled Australia out for 267 – giving the hosts an 82-run lead.

However, the England seamer later returned to action and bowled three more overs.
