Algeria’s Tebboune to visit Russia in May: Presidency

ALGIERS: Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune plans to visit Russia in May, his office said on Tuesday after speaking by phone with his counterpart Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
Algeria has had warm relations with Moscow for decades, but has also become critical of Europe’s energy supply as a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Africa’s biggest gas exporter.
Tebboune and Putin discussed “bilateral relations between the two countries, especially energy cooperation,” the Algerian president said in a statement.
