Agneepath scheme: Farmers protest in Haryana, Punjab

Farmers organizations on Friday staged protests in several parts of Haryana on the call of the United Kisan Morcha (SKM). Agnipath Central government scheme. In Dadri, youths led by local Khap leaders participated in the protests. Farmers and employees in Jhajjar staged a sit-in to express their anger against the scheme.

In Karnal, the protesters first gathered at a dharamsala and then reached the mini secretariat raising slogans against the plan. On this occasion, BKU leader Ratan Mann said that the government should recruit youth on the basis of the previous pattern of recruitment in the army.

The SKM termed the plan as “anti-military, anti-farmer and anti-national”.
