Golf fans will want to keep an eye on 15-year-old phenom Miles Russell.

On Friday, Russell became the youngest player to make the cut PGA‘S Korn Ferry Tour – Organization’s development tour – breaking 18 years of records.

But the new high school student didn’t stop there. On Sunday, he finished six shots behind winner Tim Wieding with a 5-under 66 at the LACOM Suncoast Classic in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.

His weekend exploits on the course make him the youngest player to finish in the top-25 on both the PGA Tour and Korn Ferry Tour since 1983.

“It was an amazing week. It was a blast,” Russell told reporters afterward. “Especially for my first one, you might get some weird looks, like: ‘Who’s that little kid over the border?’ But, you know, everyone was very nice and very helpful with everything.

“I just try to go with the flow and accept it as it comes to me, and I’m just trying to stay calm. I was able to hit some good shots at the right time.”

With a top-25 finish, Russell qualified for next week’s Veritex Bank Championships in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Russell, of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, is now Youngest player to make it to the Korn Ferry Tour At the age of 15 years, five months and 18 days — he finished behind Gipper Finau at the 2006 Utah Championship, PGATour.com reports.

Over the weekend and through several rounds, he claimed 17 birdies and three eagles and played four consecutive rounds under par.

Russell, due to his age, is unable to appear on the Korn Ferry Tour for the next three years (players must be 18 years of age to qualify) but will still be eligible for a Tour event if he continues to produce top-25 performances. Can qualify.
