It’s quite impressive that this was Judge’s first rejection since joining the big leagues in 2016, considering that no one in baseball has had more balls called strikes down the zone since the beginning of MLB. (His fourth-highest total anywhere outside the region.)

The last Yankee captain, Derek Jeter, was never ejected in his 20-year career, so Saturday marked the first time the Bronx Bombers captain has been ejected in quite some time.

The Yanks were defeating Detroit 5–3 at the time of the ejection – Judge had gone 2-for-4 with an RBI double.

This was the most animated experience Judge has had in quite some time (although one could argue whether it still warrants removal). Maybe it’s a little angry because of his slow start. Entering the day, Judge was hitting .200.
