Women’s Ashes 2022 2nd T20: Australia vs England – LIVE!

hello sirVery early morning and welcome For the second Australia vs England T20.

The first match of the Ashes series was a bit easy for Australia, largely thanks to a . goes to Brilliant all-round performance from Tahlia McGrath,

With the ball in hand, McGrath changed the game by dismissing both Nate Sciver and Danny Wyatt with toe-threatening yorkers. He then scored England’s total of 169 with the bat, reaching the first drop to be joined by captain Meg Lanning, the all-rounder playing a fine knock. I’ve had some brutally dismissive pull shots running through my mind ever since.

McGrath became the first player in women’s T20Is to score more than 75 runs and take three wickets in a single match, scoring 91 off 49 balls and making 3-26. Now that is a STAT.

All this while bearing the pressure of clearly coming to the side in place of one of the all-time greats… Ellyse Perry could be seen watching during McGrath’s knock, smiling generously, but perhaps in her sunshine. Underneath was a little nervous.

“I think it’s one of the best innings I’ve ever had,” McGrath’s one-time teammate at the Adelaide Strikers, Tammy Beaumont, said. As much as he admired it, Beaumont and his England teammates wouldn’t want to see a repeat any time soon.

What about England? well, they looked like a little ring rusted in the field, probably understandable Topsy-turvy chain lasts, they will be as eager as Dijon to get some points on the board from the remaining brace of T20 games ahead of next week’s four-point Test match ding-dong in Canberra.

Jim here with the call on my first voyage on the nice ship OBO, it’s short hours in south london so any company, ideas or theories are most welcome – you can E-mail, Tweet Or fax* me and see what the next few hours bring.

I’ll be back with the team soon and toss the news, meanwhile I’m ready to grind some Colombian beans** and try not to wake my nine-month-old in the next room. Or for that matter 3oo+ months old…

*Of course, I’m still not sure I fully understand how a fax works?

**Okay, ok – it’s Instant Kenco.
