“There I was, coming to the hotel and I said, “Man there’s a bear in the parking lot,” said a man named Shaggy.
Onlookers said the bear walked past the hotel’s entrance, its pool, and then climbed a tree.
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources responded and pacified the bear, which had been clinging to the tree before it fell.
“The bear was spotted this morning for breakfast and trying to check-in at our front entrance,” said hotel general manager Dina Craze.

The National Park Service offers the following tips for bear encounters.,
- Keep calm and keep calm. Stand your ground but slowly move your arms, which helps the bear identify humans.
- Talk to bears in a low tone that isn’t threatening. Do not scream or make any sudden movements.
- Don’t run and don’t try to climb a tree to get away. Bears are capable of running fast and cutting down trees.
- If possible, leave the area peacefully. If this is not an option, allow the bear to leave the area on its own.
