Warriors’ Klay Thompson focused on current anniversary of ACL tear: ‘I just want to keep winning’

Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson reflects on three-year anniversary when he tore his ACL 2019 NBA Finals against Toronto Raptors,

Thompson just returned He suffered a setback this season due to an Achilles injury in a pickup game on the court. Injury prolonged his return and he would not return to the Warriors uniform until January.

Thompson said he would reflect on the enduring memory of the 2019 NBA Finals Game 6 against the Toronto Raptors, “probably for a second,” but clarified that he just wanted to win.

“I am not going to sing ‘Kumbhaya’ or anything. I just want to win,” he said.

This year’s playoff is the first post-season appearance by Golden State since a disastrous final, in which Kevin Durant tore his Achilles before eventually bolting for the Brooklyn Nets.

Golden State finished 53-29 in the regular season and managed to win on the road against the Celtics on Friday night to tie the series.
