UP: Police team attacked in Bulandshahr, three policemen hospitalized; one arrested

A police team that went to arrest a youth in Bulandshahr’s Chaderu village on Wednesday morning attacked a violent mob with sticks and stones, injuring three policemen. Police said the mob also forced the policemen to free the arrested accused.

The injured policemen have been admitted to the hospital.

“Based on the FIR lodged against nine persons by an injured policeman, we have arrested one of them. Deputy SP (Bulandshahr City) Sangram Singh said that search is on to arrest the remaining accused and we hope to nab them soon.

This is the fourth incident in this month – three in Meerut and one in Bulandshahr – when policemen have been attacked. Two of these incidents allegedly involved an MLA and a councilor of the ruling party.

A day earlier, head constable Ramesh Kumar and two more policemen were attacked by two criminals who raided his hideout in Meerut’s Daurala area. The two criminals wanted for robbery and arson later escaped. An FIR was registered on August 10 and no one has been arrested so far.

On August 5, two aides of BJP MLA from Sardhana music somo A head constable and other policemen were allegedly attacked in Meerut’s Akalpura village when a police team reached there to pacify the two groups.

An FIR has been lodged against the associates of the BJP MLA at Sardhana police station, but no one has been arrested so far.

Two people who tried to rob cash van were killed in encounter: Police

Jaunpur police said on Wednesday that two criminals, who tried to rob money from a cash van and shot an ATM guard on Monday evening, were killed in an encounter a day after the failed robbery attempt.

According to the police, Abhishek and Nitin tried to rob money from a cash van and opened fire in Singramau area of ​​Jaunpur on Monday evening, killing an ATM guard. The two fled after the security guards of the cash van retaliated.

“After the robbery attempt, the police were on the lookout for two criminals. On Tuesday, the police patrol got some information about them. On the basis of information, the police team of nearby police stations reached the spot. Both the attackers were riding bikes and opened fire on the police team. One bullet hit the sub-inspector’s bulletproof jacket and the other bullet hit a constable, who is currently admitted in the hospital. Two criminals were injured in retaliatory firing. He was taken to the district hospital where he was declared brought dead,” said Ajay Sahni, superintendent of police (Jaunpur).

“The deceased have been identified as Abhishek and Nitin, and there are around 8-10 cases of robbery against both. Nitin is a history sheeter. A semi-automatic 9mm pistol and a country-made pistol along with a huge quantity of ammunition have been recovered from them. We have also recovered a bike. During Tuesday’s robbery attempt, both were shot and bandaged,” he said, adding that they are investigating the matter further.

A police officer said that traces of blood along the route through which the two criminals fled on their motorcycles confirmed that at least one of them had sustained bullet injuries.

Meanwhile, the UP government announced a cash prize of Rs one lakh for the police team that carried out the encounter in which two criminals were killed, an official said.
