Rambo Circus, one of India’s leading circus companies, had to keep the curtains closed during the pandemic. As soon as the country opened, the ring was largely empty, despite online shows and a few demonstrations. However, as malls and theaters opened, Rambo’s actors got back on their feet—reworking their acts or flying on trapeze—and the audience queues began to lengthen.

There are two shows every evening at 4 pm and 7 pm under the railway bridge in Mundhwa. “After two years of closure, a lot of people are coming to the circus and really liking it,” says Sujeeth. The performances at Hunar Hart and other events are expected to give more impetus to the circus performers.
