Television reporter arrested during Mike DeWine press conference on train derailment

A television reporter was arrested during a press conference given by the government mike devin Of ohio on the scene of a dangerous train derailment near the state’s border with Pennsylvania.

NewsNation’s Evan Lambert was preparing to broadcast live when Mr. Devine emerged to begin the press conference. Police officers reportedly told Lambert to shut up while Mr. DeWine was speaking, then arrested him. Footage of the incident released by the network showed two officers handcuffing Lambert while he was lying on the ground.

There was nothing I authorized.

According to the NewsNation article, Lambert is facing charges of disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing.

After being handcuffed, Lambert was driven from the site of the press conference in a squad car to an East Palestine, Ohio elementary school gymnasium.

“It’s going to be tough doing our job in America in 2023, but we’ll keep at it,” Lambert said.

Preston Swigert, a photographer, was with Lambert during the sequence that ended in his arrest. he told warnell

“From his point of view, he didn’t obey orders when he was told to stop talking,” Swigert said. “The gymnasium is kind of resonant and loud and soundy, so I’m guessing they didn’t like the fact that the sound was competing with the governor speaking, even though it was at the other end of the room.”

The derailment of 50 freight cars, including ten carrying hazardous materials in and around East Palestine, remains a major concern in communities on both sides of the Ohio-Pennsylvania border. Residents of the surrounding area have been asked to evacuate, with some suffering headaches following the accident.

However, this content of this particular press conference was described by News Nation as violating the First Amendment rights of its reporter.

Another video posted on Twitter by reporter Jordan Miller showed Mr Lambert being led from the school in handcuffs.

“This is going to be on the national news just because I’m trying to do my job?” Mr. Lambert can be heard asking as he walks down the sidewalk.
