ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s star athlete Arshad Nadeem will return home on the night of August 11 to 12 after a tremendous performance in the Tokyo Olympics. geo news Reported.

Arshad Nadeem is the first Pakistani athlete in history to have qualified for the finals of any track and field event at the Olympics. He finished fifth in the men’s javelin throw final at the Tokyo Olympics.

The star javelin thrower is scheduled to return to Pakistan from Wednesday to Thursday night. It is expected that on his return home he will be welcomed like a hero.

The entire nation on Saturday was nothing but praise for Arshad Nadeem, who took part in the javelin throw final of the Tokyo Olympics, for his tremendous sportsman spirit, despite entering without facilities available to other athletes.

Nadeem missed out on a podium finish but won the nation with his determination throughout the competition.

The entire nation took to Twitter to applaud Nadeem for his ‘untrue’ efforts.

The action began at 4 pm on Thursday as per Pakistan Standard Time.

In his first throw, Nadeem’s spear covered a distance of 82.4 metres. India’s Chopra threw him at a distance of 87.03 metres.

India was in first place at the end of the first throw, while Pakistan was in sixth place.

Chopra shot 87.58m in the second throw, while Nadeem’s effort was fouled as he crossed the line.

The third throw resulted in Chopra clocking 76.70m and Nadeem finishing ninth with a score of 84.62m.

Hence, at the end of round three, Nadeem finished fourth and qualified for the final round.

Talking to Geo News, Nadeem’s mother said that she is praying that her son should make Pakistan proud by bringing a medal. She said that she is happy and proud of her son.

In the final round, Nadeem’s first throw came at 82.91 meters while Chopra overstepped and was fouled.

In the second throw, Nadeem threw the javelin for 81.98, while Chopra again overstepped and was fouled.

In the third and final attempt, Nadeem was unable to count a valid throw as he crossed the line. Chopra meanwhile threw the javelin at a distance of 84.24 metres.
