Sergio Aguero and Ousmane Dembele both returned to training for Barcelona on Monday, having played none so far this season, the beleaguered Catalan giants said. Argentine striker Aguero, who joined Manchester City in a close season, is still waiting to make his debut at Barca in August following a right calf injury. “The new faces (in training) were Ousmane Dembele and Sergio Aguero, both currently recovering from injury,” Barcelona said in a brief statement.
French forward Dembele will return from knee surgery in June.
The news would be a welcome boost for Barca coach Ronald Koeman, whose team has started the campaign on a poor note, losing twice in the Champions League group stage without scoring.
According to Spanish media reports, Aguero and Dembele can also play against Valencia in La Liga on Sunday.
Aguero, 33, left Man City after a decade at the club to become their all-time record scorer with 260 goals.
